Kohaku Japanese restraun

I’ve been to Tokyo more than ten times over the past 15 years, but until I found this place, I hadn’t come across a single spot in New York that could replicate the taste of the food I had in Tokyo. The moment I took a bite here, I felt as if I were back in a back alley of Shibuya, Tokyo. I’m truly grateful to the Japanese chef who gave me such a moving experience.

Cluttered, with a cult following. TAKE PICTURES of the menu because they jack up prices on bill. This has been my experience every single time I've been here. Excuses range from, " The menu is old," to, "That's the Ala Carte price." Recently, we went on a Tuesday night. There was only the owner running the dining room, and a younger man in kitchen. Took 75 minutes for food to come out! Place is overall a gross mess. Most people pick up orders to go; hard to sit staring at piles of junk on and behind bar. Can only imagine what Gordon Ramsey would say.

The closest thing to Japan there is. The most authentic, delicious, and fresh sushi you will find in New York. Chef Ken and his wife are truly amazing! Thank you so much for 20 years of memories, amazing service, and “Niaz Squid Ginger”❤️❤️

This Japanese restaurant is the authentic Japanese food place, we love their sushi and sashimi boat, taste so delicious! You should be try this out definitely! Love the couple of this restaurants owner,they are very nice people! We will definitely go back to eat again! Thanks for today’s service and we love the food!

Initially I was thrown off by the intricate menu size but upon ordering and receiving the food it was extremely tasty and filling. Perfectly cooked items, imported drinks, and friendly staff make this venue a must visit near Huntington station. The atmosphere is decorated in traditional Japanese style giving it a homely and welcoming establishment. I will return to taste other selections soon!
