This place is probably my favorite sushi restaurant. I often tell people I found the best sushi and it's in the desert! Every time we visit our son in Phoenix we make a trip here. We've eaten at both this location and the Scottsdale one. Both restaurants have great, fresh sushi and fantastic service. Unfortunately, we eat the sushi so quickly I keep forgetting to take pictures, so don't have many. But two items we really like and get every time: the Ahi Tower and Salmon.com. Both are fantastic, really, really good. But, if you just get some of the basics, like a Rainbow or California roll, those are awesome as well. Kodo has incredible service and sushi chefs. This was our second time coming and Hannah was a great server! The sushi is amazing and a fantastic value. My husband and I always leave super satisfied! The rolls are unique and come out lightning fast! I would highly recommend for any sushi lover!

Kudo is a must-try Japanese restaurant in Scottsdale. I have been in many Japanese Sashimi & Sushi restaurants across cities including LA, New York, Dallas, Houston, and many other places. This is a top pick in terms of sashimi/sushi quality as well as value and service.

The sushi rice is purple rice, which personally, tastes lighter and better than sushi’s standard white rice. The Kodo roll comes with seared bluefin tuna, and it was delicious! You can really point out the seared tuna flavor. The Spicy Sashimi Salad didn’t skimp on any of the fish meats whatsoever, and can be a light meal in itself.
