This is always the place I go to when I come back home and craving NM food. Love their Burt Cheese Tacos. I remember as a little girl coming here with my family on special occasions or right after church. Used to always get the bean and cheese burritos smothered with red chile. Glad to say after 8 years of being gone the food never disappoints me.
The food was excellent. Just what we were looking for in a New Mexican dinner. The red chile had the right amount heat, and the sopapillas were worth leaving room for. Nice to have the option of posole as a side. Some have complained about slow service. Our server was friendly and attentive, taking our order shortly after we were seated. The service from the kitchen was kind of slow, however, as if there were only one person back of house, and they were in no particular hurry. It took a while to get our food, but it wasn't so late as to ruin our dining experience. The atmosphere was nothing special, but all of the diners except us seemed to be locals, and that says something.
I was intown and went here for a birthday dinner . Very small place. We waited almost 20 min for menus and drinks . The lady told somone after waiting at register to order for about 20 min that they were not doing togo orders. She was not happy. It was exactly 1 hours and 20 min before we got our food. It was ok but definitely not worth the wait . The sopapillas were the best part .
Last night I spent $40 on two hamburgers. The wait was 40 minutes. Burgers got home cold, soggy, undercooked, fries were not fried, and I got into a big argument with the owner and only had $17 of my money refunded to me. Claiming that the majority of the food was ate. I only took two bites out of that nasty burger of mine. I work really really hard and I have a really really big problem being as hungry as I am this morning. More than the food sucks at this place, the attitudes of not only the wait staff but most importantly the owner really suck. I just might call the police to be honest. Absolutely horrible.
I have never been to a restaurant with such horrible service in my life. They have amazing sopapillas, but the first time I was there they seated us and a few minutes later we were kicked off our table because it was "reserved". We ended up eating outside. Then the second time we decided to try the drive through but we sat at the window for a good 45 minutes. Even though the staff knew and could see us at the window, we even pressed the service button and no one wanted to attend us. I have no idea what their deal was. Maybe they should post a "Locals Only" sign since they hate outsiders so much.
