Wonderful time having lunch at the soft launch today. I actually wanted to come back in for dinner but it was booked out - which I was happy to see! While everything was enjoyable, the most standout thing at our table in my opinion was the Sapporo Miso Ramen broth, and surprisingly also the little free chips you get when you sit down. Those things are freaking delicious from the texture to the seasoning. Side note: I’d love to know if they have a kid’s menu or not I look forward to trying more items across the full menu to get more familiar with my top favorites, and will have fun coming by for lunch more often. Maybe I can score one of those fun geometric booths, too. There were a few things I’d chalk up to growing pains of the first day in service and then maybe a couple constructive
I visited during the soft opening today and ordered the Rare Steak, Well Done Brisket, Tendon and Tripe Pho Bowl. After comparing my bowl to my friend’s, it seems identical to the option that’s listed without steak, so it might help to make the menu descriptions a bit more clear. The flavor of my pho was okay, but I personally felt it could use a little more depth. My friend’s broth had noticeably more flavor. On the other hand, the appetizers were great the Egg Rolls, Gyoza, and Chicken Wings were all delicious. The overall aesthetic of the restaurant was really nice! I loved the atmosphere and music. It was put together very well.
I was excited to try this new restaurant since my old pho place closed. I was excited to see the variety on the menu and it made choosing what to eat difficult. I decided to stick with the pho but took a few spoonfuls of my dates Tokyo Ramen. Both were outstanding. We tried an egg roll and gyoza for appetizers and we both had the mango jasmine green tea. I look forward to returning and trying more things!!
Really disappointed in our experience. First the place does look good, so no problem with the atmosphere. The food (appetizers and ramen) were very bland and lacking seasonings. The exception was the mushrooms in my ramen. Unfortunately these mushrooms were candy sweet and very off putting. I'm not sure if the chef mixed the salt and sugar mix up or if they marinated in too sweet of a sauce. We had to follow up with the person waiting on us multiple times to get our drinks correct. The waitress suggested an appetizer not on the menu then brought us something else, I suppose at random. When the waitress brought the ramen to the table, she had her thumb on the inside of the bowl. It didn't help make the meal less bland however this isn't an acceptable hygiene practice.
Kobe Pho & Poke: Tokyo-station energy in Bloomington Walk through the door and it feels like stepping into a Tokyo train station—bright, buzzing, and full of momentum. Owners Eric and Minzy Chen set the tone, and Minzy’s upbeat welcome doubled as a guided tour of the menu, pointing out the comfort classics and the spicy showstoppers. Service that shines Amy was on it from the first hello—checking in at smart intervals, pacing dishes perfectly, and making sure the visit hit all the right notes. Friendly, attentive, and genuinely invested in a great experience. Drinks Sake Nigori. Creamy and lightly sweet, a soft landing before the spice. Sake Chokara. Clean, dry, and crisp—an excellent palate reset. Mango Green Tea. Bright, fruity, and refreshing without being sugary .Appetizers Egg
