Order large sashimi and Route 66 roll, love both of them! Route 66 has fresh citrus flavor with delicious mayo. Large sashimi is fresh and good quality. Highly recommended!
I cant overstate how lovely of an experience i had here. This spot is owned and run by a man and his wife. You can tell that he takes great pride in his craft. The small venue gave a very intimate atmosphere, and while waiting for my food, Joe (the man in the photo) and I had a conversation about his business and background. This place only does take out but this sushi is so great that you could eat it anywhere and have a good time. The rice was well seasoned and the sauce was light and mild as to not overwhelm the taste of the protein. I dont live in St. Louis, but you better believe if and when I come back, this will be the first place I return to. Thank you Joe, for showing me that the human element can still exist with food.
Such a cute (literal) mom and pop shop owned by the cutest couple!! Probably the freshest takeout sushi I’ve had in St. Louis. The fish to rice ratio on the nigiri was perfect, and the fish portions in general were very generous. Definitely a hidden gem that I hope gets the recognition it deserves:)
I was exited to try local sushi place so close to me. I got Shrimp Tempura roll and Tamm Ave Roll as they were specialty rolls as I understood. Service was great and friendly. So for the price of $30 I got the smallest rolls ever. This is the first time I didn’t get full with just two rolls. They do taste good, but for the price don’t provide the value really. For the place that does only take out and charging premium I expected more or at least on par with other places (like Wasabi Sushi for example). I guess I am not the target audience for this place, I am sorry. I really wanted to like this take out. I won’t be back.
Got into St Louis late (and starving) and found this little gem in Dogtown! I called and ordered right before close and the owners were so kind to fix me up a Tamm Roll and spicy salmon hand roll, I watched it being made with such care. It hit the spot and super fresh! I’ll be back when I’m in town!
