Kayenta Monument Valley Inn

I would have given 0 star for this place but gave 1 just for the location. - Hotel doesn't have wifi and they falsely advertise during booking that they do. - Rooms have no microwave or refrigerator. One working staff suggested I could use microwave in lobby but front desk very rudely said we don't have it. - The coffee maker is also in washroom next to toilet which is so odd. - In terms of toiletries they have only one soap and shampoo, had to ask front desk for that too. - The only good thing is location where it has easy access to food, gas and of course monument valley.

I had booked a double bed for our family of 4. When I went to check in, they told me that only King bed was available.  I asked to speak to the manager, they told me that there was no manager that night.  After few minutes, the attendant provided key to our room. I asked so what is happening, she said that she gave someone else’s room to me very rudely. Excuse me?  someone else took our room and you are making me look like I took someone else’s room?  The whole experience was very negative and instead of apologizing, the attendant blamed us for this room.

Avoid at all costs! tldr: The bad - no internet (apparently for over a year, yet still advertised as to having it) - no hot water under the shower (*) - No fridge or microwave - Smelly rooms - Clogged toilet - Expensive yet without included breakfast - Definitely not a 3 star hotel - Indifferent (if not unpleasant) front desk staff The good (or rather the bare minimum) - clean room - Location Our family have visited over 30 hotels in the last three years, and this is definitely - and by far - the worst one we’ve been to. Hello everyone, I feel obligated to share my experience at this hotel. As a traveler who has visited over 50 countries, I always try to be friendly to others—and luckily, I’m usually treated kindly in return. However, this hotel’s service has truly crossed a line. When we arrived, there was only one staff member at the front desk, who was checking in an 8-person tour group. We waited for a full 15 minutes, and when we finally couldn’t help but ask roughly how much longer we’d have to wait (even though we understood she might be swamped), her reply was, “it’s an 8-person group.” She wouldn’t even give a basic estimate of the waiting time, and the rest of our conversation was filled with impatience. Unhappy experience. Our room was dirty and dingy, nothing like the pictures we saw on the web when we booked the room. Very old looking. Evening staff was unconcerned. They said the best, newest rooms were for bus groups (and all those rooms were full). We paid a lot for the room expecting high quality based on the pictures. It was more like a $40 room.
