Katie's Kafe

We were looking for a place for lunch on the way to Toronto, we stumbled into Deposit a small cute throw back town. We went to Katie’s. What a pleasant surprise! Katie was cooking and serving. It is like a grandma’s kitchen. I was hesitant to order the chef salad because it was only 3.95$. It was fresh, tasty and abandoned. We had a sandwich, chef’s salad, soup, egg cream and cake. Everything was great, specially the fresh home made cake. We couldn’t not believe how much it cost. We couldn’t get a side salad for that price where we live! The place cute and cozy, costumers were mostly locals for lunch or tea time. We strongly recommend Katie’s.

She started to make my egg bagel sandwich. Cracked eggs. No gloves. Cutting the bagel. No gloves. Then proceeds to put raw bacon on this small table top. Again not wearing gloves. Used the same fork to move the bacon around on the grill to stir my eggs in a bowl. Raw egg and meat cross contamination.

We stopped by for tea and loved this cafe! It has a friendly, warm atmosphere. Everyone knew each other’s names. And the prices can’t be beat!

I have to go every time I'm in town for a while. Brings back memories of growing up. Sometimes it's nice when places stay the same. Katie's always has delicious homemade soups and baked goods.

Good service, love their soup and sandwiches, scrumptious baked goodies. Nice small-town cafe everybody seems to know everybody. Love it❣️
