Customer Reviews
Date night - I don’t post restaurant reviews very often… but I had to share this one. We finally tried Kanpai Izakaya & Ramen, and we genuinely loved everything we ordered. The hamachi chili, miso salmon, wagyu roll, gyoza, and edamame were all fresh, beautifully plated, and full of flavor nothing missed. The vibe is gorgeous, moody lighting, cherry blossoms, cozy but elevated. It feels special without trying too hard, which makes it perfect for date night. The staff was kind and welcoming, which always makes a big difference. If you haven’t been yet, they’re relatively new to Mansfield and absolutely worth a visit. In front of Market Street. We’ll definitely be back. 🍣🌸
Lots of things are popping up in the area & there is a lot of competition, if it's not great then there are other ramen restaurants in the area if you don't want to come back. But, we'll be back! Kanpai is a win! It's a little small, this wasn't a new build so what they have done with the limited space is still spacious with a nice ambiance. Lighting is great, you're not elbow to elbow with the next table, & decor is beautiful. Tonkotsu Ramen - springy noodles with flavorful broth, egg is on point, & portion size is great. Chashu Pork Belly Bao - yes, just like the chasu in the ramen it's tender & cooked perfectly. Wagyu Beef Skewers - these were good, probably not my favorite but it could be in comparison that everything else was great. Fatty Salmon - my favorite, I get this at whate
- For the price, food is mid. Ordered the Crab Croquettes bc I had been craving croquettes. When I got them, they were the worst croquettes I’ve ever had. The potato was all soupy. - I had other dishes like the Fatty Salmon Nigiri, it was aight, it lacked bang of flavor. The $24 cod, was very small (see lemon size in pic for scale) and also lacked flavor. Flavors are very light. - IDK if I even want to return to try the ramen. But there are better Japanese restaurants places with more reasonable prices that I would prefer going to over this place.
Truly excellent restaurant! Decor is gorgeous and fun without being overwhelming, service has always been top tier all 4 times we've visited! Tonkatsu ramen is phenomenal, sushi is so so fresh, and appetizers are such a quick, delicious, hit! The broth in the tonkatsu is super rich and satisfying, and the chashu has a beautiful texture (I won't eat it because of the fatty/chewy/unrendered texture at most ramen places). The low wait times on food is also remarkable.
I had the chance to try the food here and was quite satisfied with the experience. The hot dishes were prepared very meticulously; the fried parts were crispy on the outside but still soft on the inside, and the sauce was rich and authentically Japanese, not greasy at all. The presentation was neat and appetizing. The staff were very friendly, asking just the right number of questions, bringing out the food quickly, and always paying attention to whether customers needed anything else. The atmosphere was quiet, perfect for relaxing and enjoying a meal. A true Japanese restaurant, focusing on food quality rather than flashy presentation .
