Kanki - North Market Square

My family and I had a disappointing experience at Kanki on Old Wake Forest Rd in Raleigh while celebrating my grandson’s birthday. The grill was not clean. Our party included five adults and four children, but only 3 adults ordered food. Our bill was over $250, yet our service was poor and automatic gratuity of 18% was added to our bill, removing our ability to tip based on the service actually received. The billing process was confusing, and unlike our previous five visits, we were not allowed to substitute certain meats in the combination entrées. When we spoke with the manager, she did not provide a helpful or reasonable explanation, which led two adults in our party to decide not to order at all. This lack of consistency was disappointing. The experience here was lovely atmosphere was very welcoming It was very friendly fast service I love the way they listen and they cater to your need make you feel real special A 10 out of 10 I do recommend and I'm very picky when it comes down to my food so if I was satisfied that's a plus

I enjoyed my meal. I had the vegetable entree and everything was cooked just right. They also serve virgin Pina Coladas there. Our chef was extremely funny and kept me laughing. Overall, I would give it a thumbs up. Btw, I went there on a Thursday evening and it was packed.

Very disappointed with our visit. I had to ask for plasticware four times before receiving it. I’m a vegetarian and specifically requested no egg, but egg was still added to my food. The chef also gave another guest five extra leftover shrimp but didn’t offer my boyfriend any, which felt unfair. He was very entertaining with other guests but barely interacted with us. Overall, we felt overlooked and the service was inconsistent.

I come here often, great hibachi. First time I placed a pick up order - I go in I check it I notice I’m missing my vegetables which were on the order, the staff member - Chi takes my order back there then comes back and says “the order is fixed” I arrive home and plate my meal and there’s 0 veggies. I was very disappointed. Steak and shrimp are always good but I love my zucchini and mushrooms!
