Kangaroo House Bed & Breakfast on Orcas Island

Kangaroo House B&B was fantastic! We stayed for two nights in the Nuthatch Room, which had a historic and quirky bed. The 3-course breakfasts were delicious and creative. There were multiple tea options available at all hours. The first floor had common space which was cozy and included a working fireplace. The hot tub in the backyard was incredibly relaxing! Most importantly, Charles was incredibly friendly and personable (we didn’t get to meet Jill since she was away). Would highly recommend and we will be here on future visits to Orcas!

Can't say enough positive things about the hosts and the surroundings of this beautiful B & B. Charles and Jill were gracious and sensitive to the needs of their guests. The breakfasts were creative and delicious! Location: Removed from main part of downtown just enough to have complete quiet. The house is structurally beautiful but also nicely decorated in the period of its time.|We gave it the highest review at the end of our stay, when we kept asking each other when we could return!

What a wonderful place! The property is just beautiful. Charles was an excellent host. The homemade breakfast and coffee was so good. There’s a hot tub tucked back into the trees, and it was magical at night. Enjoyed the game room and had hot tea. We would definitely love to stay here again!!

We’ve stayed in many bed and breakfasts but can’t think of one more perfect than Jill and Charles’s Kangaroo House. We spent three nights basking in their hospitality and savoring their creative and sumptuous breakfasts. We spent three nights— the first in the Nuthatch Room, the remaining in the more spacious Northern Flicker Suite. All are beautifully decorated in the Craftsman style of the house, with comfortable beds and up to date baths. As others have noted, the breakfasts are sumptuous and delicious. We enjoyed sitting on the front porch, the back deck, and soaking in the hot tub. And we especially enjoyed the company of our hosts. They’re fun to be with, super responsive, and yet make you feel like the house is yours.

Kangaroo House was great - the hosts Jill and Charles were super friendly. They went into detail about all the foods served at breakfast to make sure we weren't allergic or averse to any food, and made amazing breakfast meals, explaining all the ingredients. They were just really hospitable and made us feel comfortable. The room was quiet and relaxing. They have a hot tub (we didn't get a chance to try it) but that's always a plus. Anyway great experience at Kangaroo.
