Kalye 80’s Bakeshop offers authentic Filipino breads that truly capture the flavors of home. If you’ve been longing for the kind of breads you’d find in a small barrio bakery in the Philippines, this is the closest you’ll get. The Spanish bread, while a bit airy, is as original as it can be. Their Pan de Coco is also excellent—sweet, fragrant, and nostalgic. We especially enjoyed their take on Yema Ensaymada, which comes close to Iloilo’s beloved Pastel—equally delicious in its own way. I do wish they would someday offer the traditional Ensaymadang Suso, the one with margarine, for that added touch of authenticity. The Pan de Sal has room for improvement, but given time for their oven to acclimate to the cool kitchen, it could easily reach its full potential. The Turon may come off a lit
Our first time there and not only is it the most friendly, the cleanest, the best prices and the bakery items are phenomenal! They are not terribly sweet but they are absolutely full of flavor! We got seven pastries but I've only included one photo because we ate two in the car. ❤️You must try this wonderful bakery! UPDATE: JUST WENT BACK A COUPLE DAYS LATER AND BOUGHT MORE! Great people!
Pretty pastries mainly in what I would call yeast roll dough. I really liked the large cake dough cupcake and the twisted pastry with the brown filling. Was confused about the pricing for a half dozen because I wasn’t sure what was named what and I got an assortment and my first time in but all very reasonable. Looking forward to coming back in. Wishing you much success in your new venture.
What a great new spot. We popped in to try a little of everything and it did not disappoint! Everything is super fresh and priced very reasonably. I know they hope to move to a more permanent spot, so go support now to help this goal!
New Filipino bakery (opened 9/18/25) & OMG, Go & get your fresh baked yummies! They have Ensaymada, Pan de Sal, Ube (purple yam) baked goodies, & MORE. Buy by the piece, half dozen, or dozen. We were not disappointed & will be coming back for more! 🤤 Mark & Oscar are pleasant and very helpful! When we were there, older Filipino couples were walking in. You know it's good when you see that. Currently, no seating on site. It's a buy & carry. It's hidden away, on the RIGHT SIDE of the building, towards the back. (See video for locating them.) #BuyLocal
