Kabul Restaurant and Market

What I love about this market and restaurant is the good natured attitude of those who diligently work here. The food is aromatic and tastes quite good! I always order the Mantu (Afghan dumplings) but also can attest to the quality and taste of the other offerings on the menu. The market has many options in terms of products like honey, fresh baked bread, nuts, dates, herbs/spices, fresh halal lamb, afghan ice cream, and some other options in their chiller. It’s a good spot to: do some targeted grocery shopping for at home culinary excursions or enjoy some authentic Afghan food in the East Bay Area.

Very nice, well stocked store. I'm trying to cook cuisines outside my experience and the staff was helpful. I love knowing I can find ingredients not available in our local grocery stores.

This place is so good, I recommend it 100%. The chicken with the rice and the spicy green sauce. I have been here in 5 years, came back into the area today, still the Same great food! Steak and chicken plus rice, $12!!!!!! And it tastes fantastic! The best when in Antioch!

I found this place on my way home one day and was happy I stopped by. The grocery items were minimal, but they do have a decent sized restaurant here. I didn't have time to try it at the location. I instead decided to buy some raw, seasoned, and marinated chicken kabobs to take home and put on the BBQ. They turned out perfectly and were quite delicious! I will be going back the next time I'm in town!

Delicious takeout food. The also sell fresh meat that comes in every other day. We purchased a leg of lamb. Around 10-12$ per pound, can’t exactly remember. It was extremely fresh. The store is clean and they have a lot of snacks, afghan items to purchase in the market itself.
