Kabuki Japanese Steakhouse & Sushi

This place used to be one of my favorite Japanese steakhouses 15 years ago, but unfortunately it’s really gone downhill which is very sad to see in this small island town. For tourists, they still may enjoy since they know nothing less, but for the locals, it's a shame to see it this way. We waited over an hour and a half for cook to arrive when they WERE NOT busy compared to plenty of other time we have come and they were slammed. Once he finally arrived, our server forgot to turn on the grill. So we sat there another 10 minutes just waiting for the grill to heat up after he realized. It just felt really disorganized. Everyone was nice, the server was clearly young and new and he did a good job and tried his best given they were very busy, it didn’t bother me, but I could see it really upsetting some people. Service was very slow and start to finish we were there an hour and a half. It was very cold and we had to wait a long time for the cook to turn on the grill (45+ min) and we were uncomfortably cold the whole time. The food was very good, well seasoned, steak cooked to perfection, chef was nice and also funny and made my daughter feel special on her birthday. The fried cheesecake is an absolute must! Save room for dessert!

Food was delicious, chef was entertaining, and the ambiance was family friendly. I will be returning! I came on a Friday night so they were pretty busy, but we were seated within 5 minutes. There were many families and couples dining in, so it’s great for groups. Our chef Don Pedro aka Dante was extremely entertaining, funny and a great chef! He made the dinner lively and enjoyable. The server was attentive and the food was delicious. I ordered the shrimp and chicken tempura as an appetizer and it was fried to perfection. For my entree I ordered the steak and shrimp dinner. Chef cooked the steak perfectly, seasoned it so good with garlic butter, and the sauces were tasty as well. I recommend asking for both the shrimp (yum yum) sauce and the steak ginger sauce as well for added flavors.

We were looking to try a new Hibachi restaurant other than the one we typically go to so we came to Kabuki. Our experience was great. The food was good, nothing different than most hibachi restaurants. The staff were all friendly. We would definitely go again.

Japanese steak houses are always fun. Food was very good. Had steak, chicken and shrimp and all were good.
