About Kababistan

Kababistan was born out of both love and a little bit of frustration. For years, we watched Afghan food and culture around us lose a bit of their authenticity. The flavors weren’t quite right, and the hospitality wasn’t the same warmth we remembered... More

Kabobs were perfectly grilled. Nice char, good seasoning. And goes great with the warm bread. The salad was fresh and eggplant was tasty. Service was great and welcoming. It’s spacious but it gets busy. If you have a large group, you could request the traditional seating.

One of the best Afghan restaurants in the DFW area! From the moment you walk in, you’re welcomed by an authentic atmosphere that truly reflects Afghan culture. The space is humbly decorated, warm, and inviting, and the staff members are incredibly kind and attentive, making you feel right at home. The food is absolutely outstanding. The Kabuli Pulao with lamb is a must-try — perfectly cooked, fresh, aromatic, and packed with rich, balanced flavors. The lamb is tender and complements the fragrant rice beautifully. The Chapli Kabab is equally impressive — juicy, flavorful, and with just the right hint of spice to give it a satisfying kick without being overwhelming. Overall, we had a wonderful dining experience and left very happy. This place is truly a gem in DFW, and we will definitely b

We drove almost 1.5 hours to come try this place out, because we had heard good stuff about it. It did not disappoint! We tried a bunch of different things and everything was finger licking good! The Chapli Kababs - huge, and juicy! There was a subtle taste of spice but not too overpowering. They serve it with naan and their special Kababistan sauce, which has an amazing depth of flavour, and is really unique in its own right. The Shinwari Karahi had a good level of spice, the meat was tender and the peppers and garlic added another level of bite and flavour to the dish. The Bolani was crispy and soft on the inside, not too spicy, and served with two different sauces, both of which were delicious! The Chicken Tikka with Rice Combo is out of this world! The rice has such a unique taste

Had an mixed experience at Kababistan. We walked in and waited 5 minutes but no one was there to greet us and restaurant was otherwise empty. Had to walk into the kitchen to get someone to seat us. Already off to an interesting start... Then once seated, we ordered but they didn't have the Qabuli Palaw or any lamb kabobs which is pretty crazy since I'd imagine those are the most popular dishes. They did have bolani and mantu so we ordered that and the beef kabobs. The restaurant interior was nicely decorated but pretty dirty. Bathrooms were not clean at all. But we held out hoping the food would be good and that part didn't disappoint. The bolani had good flavor though would've been nice if more crispy. Mantu were delicious and the beef tikka Kabobs were juicy though the flatbread under

Finally a decent authentic Afghani restaurant in Plano. The food is delicious. Might be tricky to find the place since the sign is very small but it’s right next to the Yemeni restaurant. Went there on a weekend so it was super busy and the servers a little overwhelmed. Looks like it’s a family run restaurant. The Chapli Kabab are the best in DFW. Kabuli Palau is okay. Beef tikka is very good. Mantu and Bolani didn’t disappoint as appetizers. Overall the food is great. Definitely will be a repeat customer.
