I got the whiting meal with red beans and rice and Mac n cheese. Fish was a bit salty but cooked to perfection. Sides were great, just the right amount of food. Really nice people! I want to try the oxtail next!
I wanted to love it but it's very mid low on the mid like basic I order a baked chicken dressing macaroni and cheese sweet potatoes....... side order fried green tomatoes which were perfect....... They daughter is the manager rude as hell for my food to be baked chicken it was tough it was light skin and it was barely seasoned I asked for catfish instead I end up getting over fried and over season catfish and a macaroni got like up gritty taste to it it need my milk or heavy cream they need a real cook they need a new revamp that whole menu with a real cook cuz whoever in their cooking it ain't from the south ain't nothing about that southern extremely disappointed and only reason why I gave three stars is because the lady who helped me when I initially came then before I end up being gree
My first time coming here and wow was I excited to try out their Gumbo sausages & chicken with Cod fish and Cat fish. Now after receiving my order the cat fish was smelling good through the bag I couldn’t wait to get home less than 6-10min away. I get inside opened up my cod fish and whoa! Was it Salty batter tasting and I bit dry. Now the Gumbo isn’t really gumbo. It was shredded chicken and some kind of small hot dog sausages in there. As well it was cooled off in the container. Tasted more like it should’ve been red beans and rice instead. Yet!!!Salty!!! Took over the flavor. I wasn’t expecting that at all. Idk if it was the wrong day or cook but it wasn’t a good first time customers experience. lol the cornbread square believe me when I say I’m glad I didn’t try with the so called gumb
THE BEST food I have had at a restaurant in a Really Long Time!!! Excellent
Wanted to try them since they opened but I seemed to always miss them and they’d be closed! Finally tried them today! The sides were good! I loved the greens the most!! Them geeens had some flavor!!!! The Mac and cheese was good as well. The cornbread was just mediocre cornbread. The smothered pork chops were just okay. Now, I will come back because the sides got me hooked so I will try maybe fried chicken or something that doesn’t have the gravy on it. People be raving about the chicken and fish so I will definitely be trying one of those next time!
