I made a reservation at on a Thursday morning, and thankfully got one of the last spots for 5PM on Saturday the same week. We had the best time celebrating my partner’s birthday! The food was extremely unique and delicious! I can’t rave enough about the Popover + sun-dried butter, the chicken liver pate, the fresh trouts, and the coconut green tea. Chef Henning did an excellent job sourcing the local ingredients, cooking, and presenting them! There were about 3 servers that night, serving about 10 tables in total. They were quick, attentive, and honest about their recommendations. We loved the no-tipping policy and the reasonable price for such upscale dining experience in the Hudson Valley. My husband and I came here for dinner in Wednesday. It was quiet so we sat immediately. The restaurant is dark to table so the menu changes weekly which is nice to know whiting is that fresh. High recommend the deviled egg flight! They were amazing, we also got a winter salad. For dinner my husband got the meatloaf with whipped parsnip. I ordered the seared rainbow trout and the fish was crispy on top with a great lemon sauce on top with shaved almonds. For dessert we order the chocolate pot, which was a chocolate pudding and a lemon curd. Julia came out and chatted with us for a bit, so lovely. We are definitely coming back.

One of the best restaurants in all of NY state. A hidden gem with such an elevated approach to its cuisine while remaining warm and inviting. The food is presented beautifully with a perfect complement of flavors and textures. You are welcomed by Julia who is the best host and attentive to everything during your whole time. Kudos to Julia and Chef Henning on working their alchemy. Make the trip out to Julia’s Local for a truly special meal you won’t soon forget.

Wonderful place that's run by Julia and Henning. They really have put their heart and soul into the restaurant. The food was divine! We had a such a wonderful dinner here.

Believe the hype: Julia’s Local is one of the best dinners we’ve had! Popovers were delicious, trout and short rib incredible, sashimi so fresh, and we’re *still* eating leftovers of the huge serving of salad the next day. Everyone who works here is so kind, and the vibes are warm and cozy. We feel grateful we chose this place to celebrate our engagement!
