Journey Inn, an eco-retreat

We had a wonderful experience during our four day stay. We were so lucky to find this place to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The moment we arrived to the beautiful prairie grass fields and lush green rolling hills, we knew it would be a memorable experience. We were treated like royalty from the introduction to the amenities, to the breakfast experience each morning, to the incredible hospitality throughout our stay. We wanted a weekend of rest, relaxation and quiet and found that and so much more. We enjoyed conversations with the owners, Jenny and Brent, and the other guests we met each morning. If 5 stars is the highest rating, then this place deserves a 6 or 7. We definitely will be back for future stays.

Absolutely incredible experience — I did a solo stay here for a couple of nights and felt absolutely at home. The rooms were impeccable, beautiful and pristine. The amenities were beyond and the food I will dream about! The hosts treated me like family and even went above and beyond to jump my car 2 times when it died and made sure a stressful curve ball didn’t affect my visit. If you have the chance to visit this hidden gem, take it — my only regret was not booking a longer stay! I cannot wait to go back!

Journey Inn is absolutely idyllic, from its tucked away location, to Jenn and Brett’s attention to details and to us, to their canine host, Fiona, accompanying guests on walks. Mid September was a gift with goldenrod in bloom and walking the outdoor labyrinth amidst the circles of queen Anne’s lace. We stayed in the cottage which is so beautiful with all the amenities one could want. The bed was luxurious and comfortable with layers of soft bedding. Morning coffee on the deck with the view was spectacular! The 5 course breakfast is not to be missed, all so yummy and healthy! Journey Inn is the perfect spot to explore the area or just be.

An Absolutely Beautiful Experience at The Journey Inn! From the moment we arrived, everything about our stay at The Journey Inn felt thoughtful, restorative, and full of heart. Jenn and Brett are exceptional hosts—gracious, attentive, and deeply intentional in every detail they’ve curated. And of course, a special shoutout to Fiona, their sweet, four-legged trail companion, who made our hikes even more memorable! Every detail had been considered—from the personalized welcome sign to the luxurious bedding (truly the most comfortable linens I've ever experienced), cozy robes and slippers, sauna, hammock, fire pit, noise machine, lantern, bug spray, and even orange vests for safe hiking during hunting season. Journey Inn is extra extraordinary in every way! The hosts, Jenn and Brett, are lovely people who have created a haven for rest and relaxation. For those looking to connect with nature, just step outside and take in the meadows and the creek and a pine forest with a hammock in the middle of it. The views all around our spectacular and the birds are abundant and beautiful.The breakfast is delicious, healthy, and beautiful to look at--prepared with creativity, love, and care. My room was exactly to my liking! Many times when we go away, we might say, "I would've done this differently or that differently." At Journey Inn you will not say any of that! Everything is chosen with beauty and care in mind. I loved the gift shop--the items are high-quality, thoughtfully chosen, and priced well. I
