José's Cuban Sandwich & Deli

Located in a gas station, so takeout only pretty much. The food was soooo good. I had the Cuban with beans and a salad. My husband had the Caribbean Chicken. Some of the best beans I've ever had. Jose was super nice. The prices are fantastic. Highly recommend!

I learned of José’s Cuban Deli at the Lansing Foodies Facebook page. It has many positive reviews so I wanted to try it. I love Cuban sandwiches and haven’t had a good one since a vacation in Florida. We got a Cuban sandwich and an artichoke chicken sandwich. Both were delicious! The cook also gave us a side of rice and black beans to try, which was also excellent. Great food and customer service, recommend highly! Just an FYI, had a little trouble finding it (not real familiar with Lansing). On Google maps it is listed as being inside a Marathon station but the station is now an Amoco.

Jose’s has been in business since I went to school nearby more than a decade ago, and their sandwiches are still just as delicious. The media noche is my personal favorite, and it has a bit of sweetness from the brioche bread and a bit of crunch from the griddle. It’s a great combination of flavors. The staff is very warm, and my order was ready fairly quickly. The location in the kind of sketchy looking gas station is the only downside, but don’t let that drive you away. The food is worth it.

First time trying it on my way to work. Excellent service, excellent food and filling. The area isn’t my favorite place but I’ll go back for the food every time. Thanks for an excellent first try!
