Customer Reviews
Great location although it is temporarily here. Convenient for people to come. First floor for kids, second floor for adults and teens. Very few table and chairs but it does have world language section. Compare with Munson and north Amherst It has a bigger size and collections. They provide some good programs too.
Love this library and its staff they are all so happy and kind and helpful. It has many books and also if you want a book that is not available in this location you can put it on hold and they will bring it for you. They also have many books on Libby and many movies on Kanopy. You can use PC's and scanners and also print up to 10 pages for free in the library and also get museum passes, kindle devices and even modems. They also have board game programs, ESL programs and many programs for kids.
For a small and temporary building they have a very quaintly small childrens section that my son just loved. We will definitely have to go back the librarians are very sweet and helpful. Had a nice time with the kids.
The Jones Library is undergoing construction at it's Amity Street location in downtown Amherst. So theit temorary site is University Drive in Amherst. Lot's of handicap parking. Easy in, easy out in this modern building; bright and roomy; elevators; helpful staff; and a vast collection of everything you need for research, leisure, or lending.
This was like a home to me and was a beloved destination in the '70's. It was such a special place. In the summer I'd go to the library almost every day and get new books to read. I loved all the nooks and crannies, the light, the warmth, the kind librarians, the card catalog, the kid's room. It, and Amherst itself, was an idyllic part of my childhood. I hope a love of reading continues to be fostered by it, for many years to come.
