Customer Reviews
We visited Joia Restaurant this past week and tried their Bacalhau à Brás and the steak. The steak lacked salt, and so did the bacalhau. But the bacalhau also lacked pepper. It was very bland. The atmosphere was good and the service as well. Staff was friendly and attentive. Their flan was also good and the prices weren’t outrageous.
We went to this restaurant for dinner. The lobster was overcooked, which affected the flavor, but in general was good.
The most important issue was the hygiene. Please do NOT place customers’ silverware directly on the surface of the table, it is unhygienic. Silverware should be placed on a napkin provided by the restaurant or left on the appetizer plates. Not everyone is willing to accept that. The complimentary bread was cold, and they didn’t bother to warm it up. The appetizers were better; the chorizo was actually very good. However, the main course was disappointing. The meat smelled spoiled, and I’m not sure if it was due to how it was cooked or the quality itself, but the texture was tough and rubbery, not juicy at all, even though I ordered it medium. We were a group of eight, and although the restaurant was completely empty except for us, the service was very slow. The beans tasted like they were
My partner and I went here becuase we wanted to enjoy the happy hour and it worth it and extremely affordable, I can understand why there are is many regulars here. Service is good and food is wonderful. I have done both carry-out and dine-in. (Top Pick) Pealla Seafood - I bought this thinking it would be a small expensive, boy was I wrong. This thing huge, the shear weight of it was astonishing. Being frugal, my partner and I had enough for 14 servings lasting 3 days!! As 30 bucks, divided by 14 is 2.14 a plate. That is extremely affordable. The taste was fantastic, not too oily, yet the rice goes down easily. The lobster was a shocker as I didnt expect that, the shrimp, clams, muscles, and scallops were there. Each serving I had was filled with seafood, so they don't cheap out on pleasi
drinks were reasonably priced. The restaurant is in a good location away from traffic and has a good outdoor sitting experience. We ordered the full chicken barbecue as it was fresh and saw a lot of people order it. We were sort of disappointed as it was bland to our taste. The bread in the beginning was great.
