Johnston Public Library

In the heart of the town, quiet and still, Lies a haven of thought, a treasure-filled hill. Where walls breathe stories, and shelves softly sing, A public library—an eternal spring It’s a very nice library with nice stem displays and a lot of fun things for small children to do.

Support your local library they need it. Johnston is always so friendly, so many great places to sit, books to read, and things to do. They have a spot where you can recycle electronics, maker, tools, and a little free pantry out front. The programs are amazing 100% recommend.

Have enjoyed taking my two grandsons to Toddler Storytime. It is for one hour, just the right amount of time for the kids to listen and learn. They are given playtime during that hour as well. Sheila leads the class and has a perfect balance being the teacher and the friend to these children. She reads stories, teaches a few simple sign language words. Her enthusiasm is contagious!! The library staff is always very welcoming as well. I know this is meant for the kids but as I look around, the adults are enjoying it as much as the children.

Great selection- from classics to newly released, for everyone in the family. Also, they have the friendliest, most helpful staff I've ever met. They go above and beyond to help you out. It's one of our favorite places to go! **Definitely check out their calendars for events. For Christmas the fire department and the library collaborate to give kids a chance to see Santa riding a fire truck and a "meet and greet" with him and they have all sorts of activities, arts and crafts all over the library. There's a decent amount of people that show up but it's not too crowded and hectic.
