John's Wok N Roll

John’s Wok & Roll is a cute little mom and pop restaurant located in the heart of Independence, La. The atmosphere is quite cozy with decor that’ll make you feel like you’ve been transported to another time period. The menu is filled with appetizer, entree, and kid’s items. After finally making a decision amongst the various options, I ordered the mandarin chicken with a side of meat and veggies. The food was freshly fried and smothered in sauce. To my surprise, the mandarin was far from the typical sweet, tangy, and slightly savory flavor I’v experienced before. John’s Wok & Roll Mandarin Chicken dish reminds me of fried chicken steak smothered in a country gravy. Not at all what I was expecting. Based on the rating, this will be my first and last time ordering this dish.

How in the world does this place not have a 5.0 perfect rating!!! Love love the food and staff has always been so nice. I hate to admit it, but I order from there way too much 😂 My personal favorite is the honey glazed shrimp. It is AHH-MAZ-ING!!!

Valentine's Day dinner was great, and the atmosphere was inviting and cheery! Lots of loyal customers and old friends!

I loved the fried rice, they use gulf shrimp, and the choochoo chicken was spectacular! Highly recommend, will be back again!
