This is genuinely one of the most disappointing sandwiches I’ve ever had in my life. The Italian hoagie I ordered came with a mountain of ham on top of the sandwich and while that may sound good at first, it proved to be a hassle as the only way to eat such a thing would be unhinge your jaw like a snake. Not to mention, it threw off the ratio of the taste and ended up being overly salty. The onions came in large chunks instead of the thin rings that other, more legitimate establishments have. A combination of these two missteps led to a salty, oniony, and ultimately sad excuse of a $12 sandwich. This place does not seem clean as the meats and cheeses are left to absorb the musty atmosphere and there was indeed a yellow film that coated everything as another commentator suggested. I thin
I first tried John’s in the 90s and my go to was a corned beef special. I moved out of state and today was my first visit back in almost 30 years. The store has obviously aged ,right along with me and I did notice that it could use some TLC And it seemed a little dark, but there were tables and chairs where you could eat. So I asked for the same thing, the corned beef special, and sadly, the owner no longer orders it because she doesn’t get enough requests for it. so she suggested turkey breast instead of the corned beef, which I thought was a great idea so that’s what I ordered. She thoughtfully put the coleslaw on the side, so the sandwich wasn’t a mess by the time I got home and she also informed me that the turkey breast is made in house which I thought could be a complete disaster or
Wonderful little deli. Both women working were very friendly and helped me decide what to get for lunch. Chicken cutlet sandwich is top notch; the ingredients are fresh and the bread is excellent. Give this place a shot, you won’t be disappointed!
Different cheesesteak #1048 in the last five years. Interesting stop. I explain in full video. I got the chocolate chip cookies, 4 for $2, you know I love that. The cookie dough dipped in chocolate and chocolate cherries looked amazing. They were making chicken cutlets. I was extremely close to getting a chicken cutlet sandwich. They use their oven roasted beef for the cheesesteak. I was surprised how different the texture was from a steak. $8 cheesesteak. When I have been a good boy and deserve a treat I will be going back.
They have good food but they are the most miserable people in Aston. They are always short and sound as if they can care less if your there. Don’t forget if we don’t buy you don’t have a business.
