Johnny Macs Wood Fire Grill

I debated on whether to post about this place. I was really looking forward to trying the lunch buffet since it had high ratings on Google. I followed their Facebook page and chose to go there about 12:30 on a Friday for my 60th birthday. The service was great and the place was quaint. I was excited to try collard greens for the first time ever too! Well, the buffet is just ok. The spring mix on the salad bar looked good but the other lettuce was shredded and a little brown. The hot food wasn't very hot at all, especially the chicken and the dessert. The buffet area seemed quite warm and streamy but the food wasn't at all. The food was ok, just bland. This restaurant is wonderful and worth going out of your way to experience. I had catfish, homemade potato chips, and coleslaw. All were delicious, but the catfish might be the best I have ever had. Two tender large fillets were fried in a fantastic hand coating. You must try them if you like catfish. The coleslaw was also excellent. My husband loved his pork chops as well, but he admitted the catfish was the star of our meals. It is a warm friendly environment with good service. If this restaurant were near where we live, we would visit often.

We were greeted and seated upon entering the restaurant. The prices are fair considering the quality of food and the choices available. The staff is quite friendly. We will definitely return, when we are in the area again.

Lunch buffet featured a beautiful, fresh salad bar and a diverse hot bar with many comfort foods. Ordered chicken strip basket, a grilled chicken sandwich, fries, side salads, and finished with some peach cobbler. Everything was fresh, tasty, and large portions. Staff is friendly and patient; clean dining area with a nice wooded theme.

Cute and quaint on the inside. This was a random find on your way home. Great people and service. Drinks never empty, food served fast and made to order. Clean and very reasonable prices for the location. Would definitely recommend.
