Nice little bbq joint in a small town. Walk up order and pickup windows - to go orders only. Ladies working there are always nice..Food is always fresh and good. Price is what you would expect to pay for bbq. They offer bbq baked potatoes, bbq sweet potatoes. Of course bbq plates and sandwiches with more side options than I can name. They also offer desserts and drinks. Closed Sunday and Monday.

Great BBQ place! Service was wonderful and all the food to include the sides were made from scratch. It has been a very long time since I have been to a BBQ joint that didn’t buy premade side. Baked beans reminded me of my great grandmothers that I lost in the 90s. The beef with bbq sauce was so tender and the sauce was sweet with a touch of vinegar completely magic. There is 1 picnic table as you order at the window and most carry it away. We chose to eat there and shared a table with a lovely family. But to be sure if you want to eat there bring a blanket and have a beautiful picnic on their lawn, I know we will next time.

Absolutely delicious! I’m not usually even a BBQ fan, but the food here was so flavorful and all the flavors were so well-balanced that I may now be a BBQ lover! We had the Big J sampler that comes with pork, chicken, ribs, and beef + the Mac and cheese, collard greens, coleslaw, and potato salad for sides. We also got a huge and tasty salad with grilled chicken and a side of fried okra. Everything was GREAT, I’d say the pork, mac and cheese, and the delightfully crispy okra were my standouts. The BBQ sauce is the perfect combo of tangy + slightly sweet and I really appreciate that it’s not overly sweet like some other places! Definitely the best BBQ I’ve had and look forward to returning whenever I’m back in town :)

Love the porch with the benches. Have met people from all over the US who have heard about JJs and came to Elba just to have a meal here.

Man and I really can't even lie about the way dat dis soul food and barbecue really tasted.... I really couldn't ask for any type of food better than what I got from dis place... And I'm pretty sure dat everyone and everybody have done heard dis old saying: Food So Dam Make You Wanna Slap The Taste Out Of Your Mama Mouth
