Jersey Mike's Subs

I went to this Jersey Mike’s today hoping to treat myself after already having a rough day, but unfortunately the experience made things worse. When I walked into the store, it was completely empty. Two employees were behind the counter, yet I stood there for about 4–5 minutes before either of them acknowledged me or asked if I was ready to order. During that time, they were talking amongst themselves. When I was finally helped, the employee assisting me continued having a conversation with her coworker and openly complaining about the job. While I understand everyone has tough days, that kind of conversation should not be happening in front of a customer especially when no one else is in the restaurant. We went for our "Big Game" sandwiches and I was interested in trying something new, so I asked about #64, the Grilled Portabella Mushroom & Swiss. I was wondering about the size of the mushrooms. The guy behind the counter was so very nice!!! He actually went to get the mushrooms and show them to me. They were sliced, but he said that they could chop them smaller if I'd like. He was so genuinely friendly and helpful! And since the mushrooms looked delicious, I decided to try the sandwich. I wasn't disappointed. The Grilled Portabella Mushroom & Swiss sandwich was excellent! Thank you!

Here's the Cliff Notes version before I get into it. Amazing crew, clean store & bathroom, quality products! I rarely go to Jersey Mike's.  The subs are always good, but this time was the most fun I've ever had.  Unfamiliar with the menu it took me a little while to order.  Also, I am extremely particular on how the sandwich was to be made.  I split a giant #43 (philly-chipotle) with one other person. After all that back and forth, the crew did not miss one step, they were EXTREMELY ACCOMMODATING, and worked together, like a WELL OILED MACHINE.  I can guess who the manager, or most senior employee was,  but no one was wearing name tags so I just figured I'd call everyone MIKE lol I've worked in restaurants for years and to see everybody work together with so much much unity,  I would have

I had a coupon for a free regular sub, thanks to T-Mobile Tuesday so we finally decided to redeem it for a philly cheesesteak. Hubby and both had the Big Kahuna Cheesesteak. He added a note to his to add chipotle mayo, and they did. I was a little surprised because usually, these notes in the notes section go ignored. The sandwich was good but it was much better with the chipotle mayo. I wasn't expecting much but I was pretty impressed by this philly and shocked at how much I enjoyed it. It was better than most pizza places that serve phillies, where the meat is dry and the bread is hard or chewy. This philly was legit, even for a chain. I still haven't found my go-to philly spot since moving to the area but I actually think Jersey Mike's might be a good contender.
