Jerk Awf Jamaican Grille

Great place to have authentic Jamaican food! I’ve been looking for a place close to Elizabeth City to get good Jamaican oxtails and I’ve found it. Good portion size and very friendly quick service. Definitely one of my favorite places to eat, just have to catch it when they’re open.

Second time eating here and it was delicious both times. We’ve tried the curry chicken, brown stew chicken and jerk chicken. Also tried the beef patty. Sides we’ve tried are collards, cabbage, rice and red beans and Mac and cheese. All of the chicken has been full of flavor and tender. The beef patty is spicy and flaky and delicious. All of the sides we’ve tried are perfectly cooked and seasoned. The owners are friendly and hospitable. I asked about the curry goat and was given a sample without asking. It was delicious. The vibes are like being at a family cookout and your aunt made you a plate. Homemade honeybun cake on the counter looked so good. I’ll try that next time.

Came in owner was very friendly. Liked the Caribbean music. Food portions were generous. Flavor of everything was amazing. Well seasoned. Had the perfect amount of spice to it. Btw I can’t handle spicy food very well but this was just enough. I had the jerk chicken and curried turkey with collard greens and cabbage. Both sides were 🔥🔥🔥

Yeahhh, it's definitely an authentic Jamaican restaurant. They are out of everything when you pull up at lunchtime! I got a small jerk plate. Chicken was dry like it was either old or cooked too long, and they tried to juice it up with sauce. It could have a bit more jerk flavor (more spice). The yams were delicious...real butter used in the yams!!! The rice and peas were cooked marvelously and provided a perfect bed for those pieces of chicken. But that dry chicken, naaa my boy! Fresh only, no precooked the night before business. As a fellow minority owned business, I want yall to succeed and prosper, so listen to your and adjust as needed. I'm going to try it one more time to give a fair review and adjust my review as needed... until then...YEP.

Had Oxtail w/ cabbage, rice and beans Very Good food and the owner is nice and friendly This is my 4th time here and haven’t been disappointed. Definitely worth a visit and you won’t leave hungry I promise
