Jeje's & Mejana Mediterranean Market/Restaurant

People are very kind and polite. Freshly made food that is delicious. The store section has supplies to take home for home recipes. They gave us hot Za’atar and muhammara bread to try that was very delicious, I saw it being made , thought it was pizza but it was bread. Great price. lots of parking spots.

I’ve eaten at a lot of different Mediterranean spots across LA and OC, and this is easily some of the best food I’ve had. Everything is fresh and actually flavorful. The hummus, garlic sauce and the fresh tabbouleh really stand out. The proteins are packed with flavor, the rice is delicious, and even the pita bread is really good The portions are great and the quality is consistent every time. As long as Jejes and Mejana keeps this up, I’ll be a regular for life. Definitely worth a visit.

Who would have thought the best Mediterranean food that I've ever had in Bakersfield Would come from that place attached to a shop that sells fresh meat, groceries, pots and pans and other trinkets,hookah pipes and snacks. I think I would have guessed that I just never knew this place was here. This place came as a suggestion from my wife. First of all, this place was quiet and seemed as if the neighborhood around it wasn't there.It is located on Ming avenue, which is not the quietest for the cleanest place.But i've found serenity inside his doors. THE FOOD: Let's start with the lamb chop plate.There was plenty of food,three lamb chops with rice or salad and hummus.I chose to get no salad and double rice. The blade also had a garlic paste, which was absolutely amazing.And I could eat that

Mixed Shawarma Plate: Garlic Paste (10/10) The perfect amount of pure creamy perfection and easily the best part of the meal. Beef & Chicken 9.4/10 Beef was tender but a bit fatty; the chicken had way more flavor than usual. Yellow Rice (9.2/10) Sits perfectly under the meat to soak up the flavors. It was a bit oily at the bottom this time, but still solid. Tabbouleh (10/10) Fresh and crisp, though the other day the lemon juice at the bottom tasted a little off. Hummus (10/10) Traditional and earthy with a bitter finish that I'm actually really enjoying. Overall: 9.7/10 So yummy. I’m coming back for more! ♥️🙌

The garlic paste is so delicious, fluffy and perfectly balanced. Portions are generous too. My husband had the beef schwarma and I had the chicken, both were super flavorful and fresh. We'll be back.
