We came in for lunch 35 mins before closing, everyone was so nice and we had a great meal! Great menu setup where you choose 1 main and up to 3 sides, or they have sandwiches and salads. Fresh. I was surprised Jean’s didn’t come up in Google when we searched for restaurants earlier this week. Glad we found it!

First Visit — Hoping It Was Just an Off Day I recently moved to Meridian and decided to give Jean’s a try. The place itself is really charming, and I was excited to enjoy a good Southern meal. I ordered the baked chicken (white meat), side salad, and braised cabbage—it also came with cornbread. Everything came out within two minutes of ordering, which raised some concern right away. The salad was extremely basic—barely anything to it. The chicken looked dry, and unfortunately, it tasted just as it looked. It was so tough and chewy that I couldn’t eat it. The cabbage had decent texture but was lacking in flavor. The cornbread completely crumbled when I picked it up—super dry. The only thing I managed to eat was the cabbage and the salad. I’m really hoping it was just an off day for them,

The food was awesome! The atmosphere was just as good as the food. Our waitress Sam was superb. Highly recommend this place for all.

I had the turkey and stuffing with gravy, collard greens and fried green tomatoes with a yeast roll for lunch and mashed potatoes and gravy. I had a piece of chocolate meringue pie for dessert. The food was good and my waitress Vera was very friendly and checked on me often. Nice place to eat!

This place was great and came recommended by locals! The server was more than awesome! She deserves a raise! Her service was impeccable. I had the chicken spaghetti and it was GREAT! It tastes like I got it from home! I'm from New Orleans, so this place was JUST like home cooking for me. The white brownie was great for dessert too! I left that place walking sideways, the food was so good! 'Food coma' doesn't even begin to describe I how felt after that meal! Great Service, great food, great place!
