I recently bought a hoagie from Tony’s Hoagies at 2nd and Porter because a friend of mine used to bring them meetings not to far away.She said she couldn’t get to Rocco’s so she went to Tony’s. I told her about Jeannie’s. Tony’s were pretty good I was pretty hungry which helped. When I was eating the Hoagie I couldn’t help thinking I wish I had a Jeannie’s Hoagie plus I get to talk to Jimmy McAllister who owns it while his son Steve makes it. I know a lot of the regulars so I get to catch up on some of the news in S Philly. And Jimmy is one of funniest people on the planet. I don’t know why but his Liverwurst is the best I ever had and I lived in NYC. In the mornings I often would get a BLT also outstanding and the prices you have to ask twice because they are so cheap., 7 out of 10 times

Great place for coffee, tea and breakfest/lunch sandwiches. Also a lot of daily essentials for kitchen when supermarket trip not needed. Cold cuts sliced fresh to order. Hand breaded and fried chicken cutlet sandwiches, chicken salad, egg salad, corn beef specials. You name they got it. Neighborhood hot spot and local regulars in/out all day. Family owned and operated and a south Philly hidden gem. “Big Win”!
