Came here mainly for the prawns and that ended up being the highlight of the meal. The prawns were cooked really well, tender with a nice bite, but the sauce is what makes this dish worth coming back for. It’s rich but balanced, with scallion oil and a touch of chili oil on top that adds a lot of aroma and depth without feeling heavy. The crispy mushrooms were just okay on their own, a bit too cheesy for my taste, but dipping them into the prawn sauce actually worked surprisingly well. The lumache pasta had a strong olive oil presence and leaned a bit salty, though the pork inside was cooked properly. The pork katsu was disappointing. It looks big, but the pork is pounded extremely thin, and the breading ends up thicker than the meat, making it dry and not very satisfying. Service was fine

Jane Doe, Jersey City truly impressed us from start to finish. We began with the layered fries and chicken yakitori, and both appetizers set the bar high. The fries were perfectly cooked—crispy on the outside, soft on the inside—and the truffle sauce was genuinely finger-licking good with an incredible depth of flavor. The chicken yakitori was juicy and well seasoned; while it was delicious on its own, a dipping sauce would have made it absolutely perfect. For mains, we ordered the pomodoro pasta and a chicken entrée, and both delivered once again. The pasta was cooked just right, and the pomodoro sauce tasted fresh, light, and vibrant. The chicken dish was flavorful and satisfying, and the side of sweet potatoes was surprisingly addictive—soft, well-seasoned, and comforting. The absolu

The food was 10/10 for me , we got Beef tartar with burrata Octopus carpaccio Scallions pancake Chicken sliders Beef yakitori Chicken yaketori Olive cake for dessert Everything was delicious, fresh and well seasoned. The olive cacke is highly recommended for dessert.

Went for a dinner with 3 others. We were trying to find some Asian restaurant but based on Yelp this place had a god reviews. Being Japanese and Italian cuisine, we were excited. We ordered few appetizer, shrimp yakitori, mushroom fried and fries. We ordered different dishes to share for dinner. Appetizers were ok. But for main course, we didn’t enjoy any of them. One of our friend liked chicken mains but for 3 of us, all the dishes were too creamy and bland. Pork Katsu was so dry and chewy that we all took 1 or 2 pieces to try rest were all trash. Japanese curry pasta was so so. We were all hungry but food was not appetizing for us. The presentation was good though. I love Japanese cuisine and Italian cuisine is also something I enjoy. But I couldn’t enjoy the food at all. Was not sure, i

Jane Doe is a wonderful Jersey City restaurant with a sleek and modern interior and delicious menu. Their drink menu is extensive and very creative. I'd describe their menu as Italian forward with some Japanese fusion. They do a great job accommodating dietary restrictions and all of their pasta can be made gluten free which was awesome as we had someone in our group with a gluten sensitivity. This would be a great spot for a date night or a special night out in JC.
