Food and service is great! Large portions and authentic Jamaican cuisine!
The food here is pretty decent. There isn’t a huge selection of Jamaican food around the triangle area. But this feels like home cooked meals. I got the “2 types of meat sampler platter”. I ended up going with the jerk chicken, which was good. I personally can’t handle my spiciness with food that well, the chicken I will say has a slight kick to it, nothing crazy honestly though. I would say more on the mild side. I will say the flavor of it was really good, a bit dry with some pieces, but the sauce helped that. I also got the oxtail, which was fall off the bone. Really tasty, got a handful of bones without meat, but it honestly didn’t bother me. The sides that came with it were plantains, which were cooked amazingly. It came with cabbage, which I have to say was some of the best cabbage I
TAKE OUT ONLY. They have one little table in the restaurant, and it is used for people waiting on their food. Food came out within five minutes of ordering. I got a small jerk chicken with rice and peas and it is SO MUCH FOOD. Everything was delicious but I've got to shout out that cabbage medley! I've never had such perfectly cooked, delicious cabbage. This place is a great value for your money and a treat for your taste buds.
This spot is so good. Food is fantastic: everything I had was delicious. Beef patties are flaky, jerk chicken has a building heat, rice and gravy and cabbage medley are *perfect*, and make sure you get plantains and the fresh lemonade. We also tried the Eastertime treat, bun and cheese. Thanks for the great meal! There's a nearby park that's a perfect spot to enjoy your to-go Jamaican meal.
I have to edit my review because this place has changed its quality. I’ve been there at least 3 times since my review. I understand the pandemic caused worker shortage but I’d gladly pay more for consistent quality and respect for the food. Verses cheaper rice, salty food and inconsistent flavor ☹️. Original Review: This is one of the best Jamaican restaurant in the Raleigh. I ordered the Callaloo with a side of rice and peas and cabbage. A couple of plantains were included. Callaloo is a vegetarian dish. I also got a plate of brown stew chicken with mac and cheese, rice and peas and cabbage. All of this food wasn’t for me alone lol 😂 but I also ordered a side of jerk chicken and the Coco bread 🍞 Everything was well seasoned and delicious. The staff was kind and the restaurant was cle
