My buddy and I stopped by for dinner last night. He's a vegetarian, so we picked this place because of the abundant vegetarian options. Seriously, there's a looot of options here for vegetarians! The food is relatively cheap too, it's good value for the price. We got the masala dosa (with gunpowder) to split, and for myself I got an order of garlic naan, and the paneer jalfrezi. I will say, we seriously underestimated the size of the dosa! This thing was MASSIVE. Like, it literally was the length of the table 😭. Granted most of it was the thin, crispy shell but still. That being said though, it was delicious! The outer shell was crispy and aromatic, and the potato filling was creamy and smooth. I do wish it was a lot spicier though, for something labeled as "gunpowder" it did not pack the
I ordered Paneer Nizami which was very tasty and rich in flavour. I specifically asked them to keep the spice level high, and that was a great call, it had a nice medium-spicy Indian restaurant taste. The only downside was the portion size, which felt a bit small and also they don’t provide rice with it.
We used to be Jalsa regulars. We moved several years ago and I really missed their food. Was in the neighborhood recently and ordered all my old favorites. One bite and the memories of delicious food came flooding back. Their food is amazing. And for the carnivores out there, dont skip on the vegetarian dishes. As a meat lover, I can't get enough of the veggie dishes. They're simply amazing! Hope to be back sooner this time around.
I ordered from Jalsa for the first time yesterday. Great service, order was taken immediately and staff was pleasant. As for the food, The chicken vindaloo didn't taste generic, it was definitely a superior vindaloo. The chicken tikka masala was equally excellent, but what really stood out where the lamb Samosa's, brittle on the outside, moist and succulent and savory on the inside. This places is a place for people who do know how cook the different dishes they serve here but don't feeling like cooking. It's my first ordering but will not be my last time.
We love Jalsa! The food is always fantastic! We are from India, and have a hard time finding good honest Indian food. There have been many times when we have come here specifically to get the comfort food of home. Plus the community work Nowshin and Anurag do is incredible. They, and this restaurant, do a real service to the community!
