J. Foster has to be one of the best ice cream makers in Connecticut. We have never been disappointed in the flavor and quality of their ice cream. There are a lot of lacklustre ice cream places serving flavorless or mediocre ice cream, but J. Fosters is good old fashioned handmade goodness. They have many classic and creative flavors and all are made with quality ingredients. It’s a cute little shop and easy to eat indoors or outside in the warm months. Their staff is a bit young and often lack a bit of people skills but are helpful and scoop ice cream well (pretty much what the job requires). My favourite flavors are strawberry and heath bar crunch, but everything is good. They even have good tasting low carb and sugar free flavors.

Why did I wait to long to stop in here?! Amazing flavor choices and delicious creamy ice cream. There's also usually a decent selection of vegan / dairy free flavors.

Quite pricey ($1 for like a tiny spoonful of sprinkles!) for not the best quality - especially when there are so many other options in the area. The hard ice cream had little icy chunks in it like freezer burn and the soft serve came out like soup, it couldn’t even hold its own shape in the cup.

Came here for ice cream and shake. I understand there’s one person, we waited for 15 mins, she was more concerned about answering the phone instead of helping the pple waiting to be served inside here right now. Don’t think I waste my time and come back here. Going to Dom’s ice cream. Better service. Disappointed ☹️
