Been here multiple times now and can confidently say this place is consistently great! The portions are very generous, and we always leave completely stuffed. The Hong Kong Shrimp appetizer is our go-to , flavorful and perfectly done every time. We’ve also tried the crab cakes, which were very meaty and packed with crab flavor. They are a bit on the pricier side since they’re market price, but the quality definitely shows. My personal favorites are the Crispy Chicken Platter and the BBQ Baby Back Ribs. The chicken is incredibly tender and juicy with a perfect crisp, and the ribs literally fall off the bone and are so flavorful. Newly opened restaurant! I saw a couple not-so-great reviews beforehand, so we went in with low expectations, but we were pleasantly surprised. Everything was amazing: the food, the ambiance, and the service. We sat at the bar to watch Monday Night Football. The only thing I agreed with from the negative reviews was that they didn’t offer water automatically. Other than that, the staff was quick, attentive, and very friendly. Since they’re new, here’s a quick rundown of everything we tried: • Complimentary popcorn – spicy, addictive, and such a fun touch. • Calamari appetizer – hands down the best we’ve ever had. We watched J Alexander being built and it had just opened up and we’ve been looking forward to checking it out. We went for family dinner and it didn't disappoint! We really loved the ambiance. Lights also dimmed for dinner service, which was a really nice touch! You can go "dressy casual" or get all dolled up for a nice date night. I would say don’t go too casual. We were seated right away since we had a reservation. James was our server. He was very welcoming, friendly, and was very attentive, which we appreciated. Superb!! Five-star experience! My husband and I have had the absolute pleasure of dining at J. Alexander’s Restaurant multiple times since its opening in the Valley of Arizona late last year, and each visit has been nothing short of exceptional! J. Alexander’s has long been a personal favorite of mine—I have a deep and fond history of dining at the restaurant in my home state of Michigan, where we are both from. Love! This was my go to place for a nice meal out when I lived in Florida so very excited to have one in AZ now. Great food for the value. The MUST haves are definitely the carrot cake and Mac and cheese. The whole table agreed the carrot cake was the star of the show. The service you could tell it’s a new staff but everyone was friendly and attentive. Also a nice touch was the staff outside with umbrellas escorting people to and from their cars since it started to rain.
