Izumi Japanese Steak House & Sushi Bar

Quality food, exceptional service and nicely decorated! Music was a mix of pop, $20 sushi entrée is about 2 rolls of sushi. My nephew was obsessed with their bubble tea.

Man I can’t believe it took me so long to get in here! I wrongly judged the place based on the strip mall by airport location. Don’t be me! Friendly staff, great menu, full bar, cool dining room and the food is delicious. I consider myself a fan of sushi and have had the luxury of eating it in many places. Is this place like NOBU? No! But it’s delicious pan Asian food and the sushi is really, really good. Fresh, well sliced, the sushi rice is good. This place is easily the best Asian restaurant in the area and the best sushi in the area.

I recently ordered takeout from this restaurant, and it was a fantastic experience. I tried the Out of Control Roll and the Fried Calamari with Sweet Chili Sauce, and both were absolutely delicious. The calamari was prepared with thick, tender rings that paired perfectly with the sweet chili sauce, giving a nice balance of flavor. As for the sushi, the Out of Control Roll was incredibly fresh with a delightful combination of tuna, salmon, yellowtail, and creamy avocado topped with seared white tuna and crunchy toppings. Each bite was a burst of flavors, and the added Japanese mayo and eel sauce made it all the more enjoyable. The food was decent and I wish the ambiance was more lit up. The restaurant was too dark inside and it would have been more pleasant with more light on.

I have been getting sushi here while on business trips for the last 9 years, and I have never once been disappointed. Compared to other places locally, I think Izumi is superior. Always great quality fish, good portions and a tidy presentation. My only critique is that I wish it was open on Tuesdays since that’s usually when I arrive.
