Islander 71 Fish House and Raw Bar

Yesterday was my first visit to Island 71 and I can honestly say I'm not impressed with the seafood. (Something the Low country of Charleston is mostly known for). Though it was good I've had better at a more reasonable price. Kelsey was an amazing server and she didn't miss anything when it came to taking care of the party of 15+. Unfortunately, the biggest flaw about this restaurant is that a party of 8 or more they only do one check or can split the check evenly while only being able to use up to 4 credit cards. We didn't know this was the case until after we have already ordered our drinks. Please be mindful of this!!!!!! It's not a place I would recommend being a native to the low country.

Went there for Valentine’s Day with low expectations snd they were certainly exceeded in a way. I ordered the flounder sandwich and my girlfriend ordered the steak frites. Flounder was either super low quality, or barely cooked, as seen in the image. The steak frites was like you cut off all the fat of a ribeye and threw it on a plate. With that said, I will say our waitress was very polite and personable.

Food a little cold. Cold evening though. Service messed up orders communication with the kitchen but they recovered with style. Beautiful sunset. Friendly atmosphere everyone having fun.

I have seen Islander 71 on IG and have really been wanting to check it out. This place is back in the CUT! The drive is pretty as you do cut through a neighborhood to get to it. Once you arrive, the parking lot is huge and the parking is free and they do have valet available. We had reservations for inside but we ended up sitting outside instead as it was a bit chilly inside. Had we realized the menu inside was a bit different than the menu for the outside area, we would have requested a different table. The interior was beautiful and well put together. The outside has beautiful views of the water and they also have an astroturfed area where you can play a little corn hole and they have a stage for a live band. Plenty of seating available. We had a fantastic experience at Islander 71 during our recent visit to Isle of Palms. From the moment we arrived, the lively, upbeat atmosphere set the tone for a great evening. The views and vibe perfectly captured that relaxed coastal charm. The Flounder Sandwich was absolutely delicious — fresh, flaky, and perfectly cooked with just the right amount of crisp. It was easily a highlight of the meal. We also tried the She Crab Soup, which was rich, creamy, and full of flavor — a definite must-order. The frozen drink was top-notch and hit the spot on a warm evening. Service was excellent, and we want to give a special shoutout to our waiter Sam B., who was friendly, attentive, and really made us feel welcome.
