Why go eat bland Mo Bettah's across the street when you can eat Island Grinds? The pupu chicken was far from "pupu". It was fresh and rich in sweet and savory flavor! Their pork, while not the best I've had, was tender and quite delicious! The macaroni was actually seasoned, and the rice? Well, it's just rice, but it had a soft, sticky rice like texture. Prices for combination plates are pretty reasonable for the massive portions you get. For a 2 meat combination plate, it will run you <$20 with a tip included.

Food was AMAZING!!!! So much flavor & great portions for your money. Only downside was the tables & seats weren't very clean.

Always a must stop for us, food is always hot, fresh and delicious!! Staff is great and friendly, with an awesome atmosphere. Definitely recommend this food spot and their 3 meat mix plate 🤙🏽😮‍💨.

Nice people and good musubi which was well worth finding. The place is a bit empty so getting to go can be a bit awkward with others sitting in the eatery. Still not an issue. I highly suggest you come try this place out. The staff can be hit or miss, one girl is super sweet where some others definitely do not want to be there. I'll keep coming back, i keep meaning to come try some of the bigger dishes. Would love to see more types of musubi too.

travel for work and visit SLC once a month, and I always make sure to stop by this spot. This time, I ordered the seameat mix, garlic shrimp, and lemon pepper chicken, which came with mac salad and rice. The garlic sauce was delicious, and the shrimp was perfectly cooked—it was the first thing I finished! The chicken was tender, juicy, and full of flavor. Honestly, the price is a steal for the quality of food. I highly recommend checking this place out.
