Island Crave

I finally found a Caribbean spot with amazing food and excellent customer service! As soon as you walk in you are welcomed and when you ask questions they answer politely without rolling their eyes or sucking their teeth, I know this is t the case at all Caribbean spots but it’s unfortunately been my experience. I had to ask seven times if they were giving me the small because you can hardly tell the difference between the small and medium, which is a good thing. Did l mention how good the food is??! I wanted to try everything! Even the chicken feet looked good but l don’t eat that. I would definitely say it’s one of the best in Harlem!

Tiny hole in the wall spot. I only had the fried chicken lunch special and it was delicious! Well seasoned chicken and the gravy added to the rice was amazing. I traveled from the Bronx and it’s worth the trip. Definitely will be back!

The only thing that you could even say about this place, that’s bad is that it’s small. However, get your food and get out that’s the motto right. The food is super tasty. Great smells wonderful customer service right in your face. Easy to deal with you place your order when you leave I got the chicken curry. It was decent. Very tasty And the was good too. Maybe could have been a little less firm, but no real complaint here! Thanks!!

As a Jamaican, I find it embarrassing that this restaurant is serving food under the banner of Jamaican cuisine. The fried chicken was completely dry — clearly sitting out for hours — and had no flavor or freshness. The soup was even worse: calling a pot of broth with a handful of shrimp “seafood soup” is misleading and insulting. The flavor was off, unbalanced, and simply disgusting. This is not how Jamaican food should ever be represented. Our cuisine is rich, bold, and full of life — but what was served here was the opposite. I would never recommend this place to anyone, and I truly hope they reconsider how they prepare and serve dishes if they plan to represent the culture of Jamaica.

I must say very dissatisfied with the food , price and service here. I travelled from the financial district where I own a four and a half star pizzeria and was let down in every way. I ordered two meals one octals and Mac and cheese damn near cost $35 for just a couple pieces and Mac no rice or anything else and then damn near anther $20 on fried chicken and Mac and cheese. When I was asking for a breakdown in price the owner or manager ran over to the register and sent the other worker away from the register and dismissed me like I didn’t just spend my money there and didn’t wanna give no breakdown and said that’s the price. I have been in the restaurant business for over 27 years and still running and growing and that’s because i don’t have any staff that treats customers like that it’s
