Island Breeze Jamaican Cuisine - San Bernardino

Really excited that there's a Jamaican restaurant in the area. I've always loved Jamaican cuisine since I tried the Jamaican patties and then when I had the Jamaican food itself in South Florida. Oxtail and Curry goat will alwaybe my most favorites! Now, honest review: Oxtail: Good price. Flavor is good, could be better. Could be more tender. Would have been better if it was more tender. The curry goat is good but more spicy than my liking. I love curry goat but I am not sure if I'll order this one again from them. Jerk Chicken was disappointing. :( It was dry. I think it was not made the day I ordered it. And it was too spicy also. So different from the Chicke Jerk i have had in Southern Florida. The fried plantain and mixed veggies were really good! I tried the Jerk Chicken Bowl. Everything was cooked perfectly. The chicken was fully cooked, vegetables soft and the rice and beans were on point. "Spicy and Flavorful" I'm already planning my next trip back to continuing trying everything on the menu 😋

Only their 2nd day open, but loving this new Location already. Friendly staff, food was delicious, clean establishment, inside and out, and I love that they have their small grocery section, for Jamaican pantry necessities. Jamaican food is usually more on the expensive side, but their pricing was well priced and fair.

My first bite of my curry chicken took me back down memory lane. I hadn't had Caribbean style curry chicken that authentic since I moved back to California. My Mom and I both had $9 Breeze bowls. I had curry chicken with rice & peas + veggies and she had the stew chicken. We both loved our food. Side story: As we waited to order a man from New York came in. He first verified there was a Jamaican Chef in the back (yes there is). He also let them know he was from New York and would know if it was authentic and good. After we all ate, he stopped by to let us know he enjoyed his food especially as a New Yorker in CA. (He ordered the Oxtails) They have authentic Jamaican beverages as well which was a plus to wash down our meals.

The food taste great, but I need more meat on my bones. I got the Oxtails, peas and rice, and those festivals breads super delicious. My only issue was that there wasn't enough meat on the bones. Other than that, the food was great tasting.
