Iron Rail Inn - Restaurant & Bar

Stopped in for a quick bite around lunch time. Staff were attentive and helpful. They accommodated our dietary needs, and the food was quite good. The paninis were perfectly cooked, with crispy outside and soft bread inside. Ingredients all tasted fresh and flavorful. The dining area has limited seating, but the food is worth checking out.

Wonder of wonders. My review disappeared. So here we go again. Skip this place until they get their act together!! Here's why. You have to hunt for someone to help you if you have problems, our room door was very hard to open. It felt like it would break every time we opened it. The bathroom door was too big for the door frame so it never shut, there was a used band aide in the shower, blood on the comforter, ( the comforter was exchanged by the person at the bar), the sheets looked like they might not have been changed, and there was blood or poop on the unwrapped toilet paper roll on the back of the toilet. We asked that the room be cleaned when we left for the day and nothing was touched when we got back. We just dealt with it but were told the owners would call us. They didn't. This ho

My boyfriend and I stayed here on Saturday after riding the train. The rooms are absolutely adorable and the beds are comfortable. The restaurant was packed but the sweet waitress let us hang out upstairs until she could get us a table. The food came out really quick even with them being so busy. My BF had a panini and I had the prime rib with mushrooms. Both were excellent! Their chips and dip were excellent too.

Wonderful paninis! I highly recommend a stop here for lunch to have a panini. We were driving through to do some fall leaf peeping and were going to stop at Subway for a sandwich. It was 10:30 and it was closed. So we headed down the road in Chama and stopped at The Rail House Inn. They could not have been nicer or more helpful. Although the kitchen was not open yet, the chef took time to whip up two paninis for us. One was a basic turkey and cheese and the other was their presto panini. We got to a picnic spot and opened our bag of to go boxes. In addition to the absolutely delicious paninis, we had a box of tortillas with a corn and bean queso dip that was a delightful surprise. Very good. When we head back to Chama, we will be eating lunch there! Be sure and stop by for a taste!

Stayed here with my daughter. We had everything we needed PLUS on demand hot water. There was snow outside but nothing but warmth inside. They've changed the interior since I was last there-- it is definitely less "rustic" even though it doesn't look modern--but the upgrades are nice. Not all the upgrades are done but everything still has a done "feel". Being able to have a hot chocolate at 11PM after working over 10 hours in the freezing cold was magical. And having guests' rooms separated so we're not on top of each other was also an amazing, thoughtful touch. Thank you for everything, guys! We look forward to our next stay! Thank you for everything!
