Inn At Ojo

I want to set the record straight for the Inn at Ojo. It is part of the luxurious and beautiful Ojo Caliente Mineral Hot Springs Resort, just down the street. The Inn is a converted motel (it is still motel style) and there are no services at the Inn itself. There is a small pottery studio next to it, but if you’re staying at the Inn you have access to everything the Ojo Caliente resort has to offer, including a nice restaurant and of course the legendary hot springs. I didn’t get photos of the Inn but the rooms are nice - simple and small but they have the basic amenities, and again you can get free coffee and all the rest at the resort just 1/4 mile up the road. The photos shown here are out of date and don’t reflect the lovely reality of the Inn and the resort overall.

Our second visit to Ojo. We were not able to get an on property room this time. Very small room for 2 people, a little shabby, no closet, shower left big puddle on bathroom floor. Bedside table had food spatters and drink rings. Room 1 is next to some sort of equipment room - load noises all day and night - sounded like drilling and other mechanical noises. Definitely not worth $300.00.

I stayed at the newly renovated Inn at Ojo, which is about a 1/4 mile from the main resort for one night. There is parking in front of the units and most parking spaces on the circular gravel drive are near the rooms.||They placed me in a room on the corner next to the main road(s), so there was some road noise from passing semis and delivery trucks. Fortunately, it was Summer, so kept the A/C running which helped mask some noise. When I walked into the room, there was a VERY strong air freshener scent in the main area. After being assured by the front desk that their staff doesn't use air freshener, I searched throughout the unit to try to find what was causing the smell. These are no longer a Bed and Breakfast, they were bought and are now run by the Ojo Caliente Spa. As such, they are OK rooms except for the paper thin walls between rooms! I mean you will hear everything next door!!!. Not exactly relaxing. Shout out to the couple from Spain next door who were up until 3AM...The decor is fine but the sound insulation is nonexistent. I'd rather stay in the old Ojo hotel which don't have showers and also have a reputation for thin walls. At least there you can easily walk to the pools.

Yes! 100% Should you book a stay here? Definitely. Cute, cozy room with excellent quality bedding. We loved the walk to Ojo but some prefer to drive. Soak early and soak under the stars. Great room with a swanky robe to get a locker, towel, and full access to the Spa at Ojo.
