We’ve been to this restaurant a few times. Food is usually very good and thw service is great. And the location downtown is also nice. Today we went for a late lunch and we ordered the fried snapper, the arroz chaufa, and the jalea de mariscos. The arroz chaufa was excellent. Big portion with lots of shrimp, beef and chicken and the flavor delicious. The fried snapper was also very good, though a bit expensive at $35. The jalea de mariscos we’ve ordered before, but today some of the seafood was very dry and tough, almost like it had been re-heated and it did not taste as fresh as in other ocassions. But I still give this restaurant 4 stars since all other times it has been a great experience.
A review from a Peruvian native pallete, I ordered the Ceviche de Pescado and the Chicken Causa (see pic). I really wanted to like this place, but unfortunately I left disappointed and the food did not sit well. As you can see from the ceviche picture, it looks like a soup dish which its not supposed to; the fish was fresh and a good portion, the onions where sliced correctly julienne style cut, their version of “leche de tigre” was nothing more than a watery mess with salt and too much pepper drowning the whole dish and not letting the sweet potato and choclo (corn) balance the little acidity of the plate. The sweet potato was not cooked right, not much taste and small for the fish portion. The corn was also drowning, no balance. The chicken Causa left lot to be desired, I understand
I have never had Peruvian food before so admittedly I can’t compare. I was very pleasantly surprised. The place is unpretentious but the food was incredibly fresh and delicious, the ceviche is to try. The portions are huge, food came pretty quickly, and prices are more than reasonable. The staff were young and very friendly. Give them a try, you won’t regret it.
I was looking for an authentic Peruvian food and I've found it. The staff is friendly and the location is great. It's perfect for me for closing celebration with my clients. Affordable . The restaurant is located in downtown Raleigh. 100% recommend ☺️
Saw the sign for lunch specials. Decided to pop in after court since it's right at the corner. Place has been opened only 3 months from what the worker stated. We were greeted as we arrived. Asked if we wanted to look at the menu and were given waters. I asked which beers were on tap since I could see some new handles to me. I was told they were not serving beer yet. Possibly a permit issue. It's fine, I can understand especially since you just opened.
