Indo Spice Restaurant

Food was absolutely delicious!!! everything we ordered was flavorful and well-prepared. We truly enjoyed every dish. The empal and the curry fish were our favorites, both were incredibly tasty and full of flavor. We’ll definitely be coming back. Highly recommended! ❤️

We decided to try Indo Sprice based on all the glowing Google reviews, but honestly the experience was disappointing. We ordered fried tofu in a “special sauce,” a noodle soup with rice, and a fried fish with yellow sauce. The tofu was bland and forgettable—we barely touched it. The noodle soup was not at all what we expected; Indonesian food usually stands out with bold, rich flavors, but this dish had none. The only dish worth mentioning was the fried fish, and mainly because of the yellow sauce, which was decent but nothing extraordinary compared to other Indonesian places I’ve tried. We did looked their menu before we were heading to Indo Spice because when I searched this place came out and had no clue there was Indonesian restaurant nearby. When we walked in there was only 2 people eating and was 4:30pm. We were party of four. We got pork satay, red fried rice, salted fish fried rice, tempong rice platter and street food meatball soup. The meatball soup portions was a bit small, but the meatballs was 4 pcs and they were decent size, I was just hoping they give me bigger bowl like the pho soup portions lol. The bowl was really small like for kids size. But the meatballs taste I did enjoy it. I vote this place to be Indonesian restaurant with the most delicious foods during our east coast road trip. From tasty appetizer like tahu isi (fried tofu) & bakwan goreng (corn fritters), delicious man courses (we tried their fried rice, nasi empal, oxtail soup and ayam kremes), to perfect desert like pisang epe. For me, the fried rice (basic recipe but rely more on cooking techniques) is always the benchmark to compare to other Indo restaurants and this one really stands out

I ordered the Corn Fritters, Meatballs 911, and Ambengan Chicken Soto. The food there is good. If you try the meatballs, you can ask for the sauce on the side since it’s very spicy but full of flavor. I would come again to try different dishes. I also got a complimentary dessert called Es Pallu Butung. It has shredded ice, a bit of syrup, condensed milk, coconut cream, and banana or plantain. It tastes sweet and pretty good.
