Independence Library

This is hands down the best library. I’ve had the best encounters with Miss Jo the children’s librarian. She is such a bright light and truly loves each one of our kids. She goes out of her way going above and beyond to make each child feel special during story time. The stories and crafts always pair perfectly together. The summer reading program has got to be one of the best things my girls and I have participated in. We just love this library and all of the librarians. It’s the greatest spot in town.

I've loved libraries my whole life, but the Independence Library is something special. It has an wide array of books, audio and video resources that will appeal to patrons of all ages. It features a lovely multimedia center with modern computers available for use. It is highly active in the community with weekly programs for children and adults. But it is the librarians that truly set it apart and make this library the epitome of what makes small-town life so special. The children's librarian, Miss Jo, brings an enthusiasm and joy to the children's programs and is making at least our little corner of the world a better place. Or, as Miss Jo would say, "Hometown Happy".

We love libraries and this is one of our favorites! Small town, friendly and VERY helpful staff. Great periodical and children’s/YA section. Lots of workshops and community events throughout the year for all ages and interests. Only complaint would be the kids that take over the computers all summer, but I doubt that’s specific to Indy.

I love libraries. I love the amount of seating inside, the option to use a computer, use the phone, sit by a window, and very kind librarians in there. They make great suggestions when asked and are more than willing to locate a book for you at another library and have it sent to this one for you to pick up! Nice, quiet place to do work, or enjoy a chat about books with the staff :) they also have fun activities happening basically every week! They care about the community and the kids!

Wonderful library! Has a nice varied selection of books, DVD's and other materials. I love to go there. It's quiet and you can browse as much as you would like. They have computers available as well. Nice librarians and easy check out.
