IGA

I have always liked IGA. When I was young, my mother always did her grocery shopping here, which the name was then called Houchen's Market. Every Saturday morning, we faithfully drove the 15 miles to do the grocery shopping for the next week. The grocery store has always been spotless, clean, and every shelf and freezer section. The dairy section has always been immaculately clean, and all sections of the store are well maintained and kept in good repair. The employees are very kind and helpful if needed. Personally, my favorite is the fresh meat. It's very good and worth driving the few extra miles to purchase it. At least I know I'm getting quality meat and other necessities.

IGA: Where 'Fresh' is a Suggestion and 'Deals' are a Mystery." Let's be honest, walking into an IGA is like entering a time capsule. You're greeted by a symphony of fluorescent lighting, the gentle hum of aging refrigerators, and the faint, yet persistent, aroma of... well, IGA. It's a sensory experience, people. Forget your fancy organic kale and artisanal sourdough; we're talking about finding that one brand of ketchup your grandma swore by, and a suspiciously large selection of canned goods that may or may not predate the internet. The produce section? A delightful game of "Is it still alive?" Think of it as a botanical adventure. You might find perfectly ripe tomatoes, or you might find something that resembles a science experiment gone wrong. Either way, it's an adventure!

Overall a great store. Clean, quick checkout, helpful staff. We have stopped here several times over the years on our way to the lake. Sometimes the selection isn't as great as larger stores but the quality makes up for it. Add a subway and an Ace Hardware right there and it's the trifecta.

Good prices and the grain feed ribeye's are on sale win win win

Oddly enough an Instacart order from Louisville brought me here. Absolutely love this store! I've never felt so welcomed while I shopped for groceries. That's not the best part though, it was that big bag of dried marshmallows that won my heart. I didn't think I would ever live to see the day y'all but here they were. Add the beef jerky they had on sale that would make a FINE ham salad, and we are SOLD. We are planning a drive down once a month just to get some!
