Ichibar Japanese Restaurant

Nice design and interesting table setup in their own little rooms. We called in our order at 7pm, and it is now 8:10 and still no food, no urgency. Lol, if you are traveling through the area, I would skip this place. Next door is some kind of speak easy. ;) Cashier just says they are finishing up now. I typed this while I am waiting.

The food here is amazing, with great flavors and super generous portions. The staff is really nice and the service is speedy and efficient while being pleasant. A real hidden gem!

So first I got the soup that I choose with the teriyaki chicken and the soup taste really good and our server is really nice. The chicken was really good tho I will warn you there is a lot of chicken so be prepared to get a to go box. Also the restaurant has some really cool decorations and atmosphere. I will definitely be coming back here.

Terrible experience tonight!! I come here all the time 30 minute drive due to my small town in Va not selling hibachi. As I take a bite of my food I see a rubber band in my rice i immediately call because at this point I’m disgusted. I get on the phone all for the lady on the line to tell me it’s no way possible it could have gotten in there everyone there wears their hair up as I stated to her I have no reason to lie I spend my money here all the time I asked for a refund not for the entire order just my plate because obviously I don’t want to drive another 30 minutes there and back for their screw up with which I was told that can’t be done unless I bring all the food back up there that’s the policy. I will no longer spend another dime in this establishment the way this was handled was p

Soup was tasty! However while we waited for main dish .. we saw a roach.. Then my main dish was cold! The rice was room temp.. the broccoli in my vegetable teriyaki was cold and soggy. only the tofu was warm.. not scorching like it would be fresh.. A gravy like substance was used as teriyaki sauce—-not authentic or original. Portion size was generous and the waitress was nice but -not knowledgeable… ps. To be fair… as per the photo below.. we should have known as we were warned 😒
