Customer Reviews
My husband and I decided to try Ichiban again after the new ownership took over. We came in for our Valentine’s Day lunch, and WOW we were pleasantly surprised. The owner suggested a special tuna plate and it was AMAZING. We liked it so much that we returned for lunch again today. This time we shared the Sushi Lunch. It was very good as well. I think I found my new favorite spot.
What an amazing sushi restaurant. Sat by the sushi bar and see the chef in action. Everything is very good. The quality is excellent. Will be back again with friends and family.
We love coming to Ichiban! The food is always fresh and beautifully plated. The sushi is excellent. One thing I really appreciate about Ichiban is that their rolls are hand-rolled with care. Nothing feels rushed or mass-produced. The texture of the rice and the balance of ingredients show real attention to detail. The staff is friendly and makes you feel right at home. It’s a great spot for both casual lunches and relaxed family dinners. Definitely one of our go-to restaurants in town!
My wife and I had ate here last week. The ribs were amazing the sushi and sashimi are delicious as well. Great staff friendly and helpful with recommendations. Will definitely be returning. Highly recommend eating here. Enjoyed my food so much forgot to take pictures to post. Will add some next time we eat there.
I’ve been coming to this restaurant since before COVID, and the food and service have always been outstanding. Even with the recent ownership change, everything is still absolutely top-notch! The new owner, Jay Choi, is a retired professional golfer and a graduate of the University of New Mexico. He gives back to the local community in so many positive ways. Having spent most of his professional golf career on the Japan Golf Tour, he brings an incredible level of experience, knowledge, and authenticity from Japan. I’m confident the legacy of Ichiban—hands down the best Japanese restaurant in Albuquerque—will continue to thrive under the new ownership. The quality, care, and flavors are exceptional, and the sushi is simply the best. I will definitely keep coming back and highly recommend
