Ichiban Chinese & Japanese Restaurant

I have only ever found the food to be very good here, and they offer Japanese food which sets them apart from all the other Chinese spots along Ridge. The food is usually ready in under 10 min for pickup! The biggest bonus though has to be the lunch deals. They have Chinese lunch combos, Japanese bento box combos, and sushi combos. All (and yes I have tried them all) are very good, with way more food than you need, at a great price. This is a hidden lunch gem!

So who doesn’t love Chinese? Well maybe some don’t but I do. This place doesn’t offer parking and sits on a pretty busy street so be ready to find a parking spot and have your parking app loaded. The food was satisfying no complaints. They also offer sushi and I did try it. It wasn’t bad but I think I would only get sushi from a more notable place that offers it. Long story short you can dine in if you prefer to. The environment is quieter and not shabby. If you want a satisfying Chinese meal from a local spot I can say give it a try. They also offer Japanese cuisine but I didn’t have any outside of the sushi.

Served us old food. It was a takeout order, but the Chinese pizza was so hard and chewy, I only ate a half of one piece before being put off it. The chicken lo mein was a JOKE to put it lightly, the noodles were mushy while the chicken was *too* firm, and it tasted old. I took 2 bites and threw the rest out. Someone else finished the Chinese pizza order and we both ended up vomiting 15 minutes after. I will NEVER order here again.

Updating my review from a few years ago to 5 stars (again) because Ichiban is great! It’s our go-to Chinese and sushi spot that’s more reliable and affordable than others! The sashimi appetizer is always delicious, the hot and sour soup is tasty and complex and balanced (hard to find that!), and the Chinese dishes are flavorful and not too greasy with fabulous sauce. My husband and I are grateful for the quick service and smooth online portal for pickup or delivery orders. Tonight’s meal was exactly what we needed with fabulous flavors and lots of extra garlic sauce. Recommend!!
