Well this is certainly a little hidden gem! Picked up delicious pork katsu curry and smash lemon tea combo (great to save a couple $$!). The pork cutlet was HUGE and juicy with crispy crunchy crust, even after walking it back to work 5ish mins away. The curry was perfectly flavored. The smash lemon tea was a refreshing treat to wash it all down! Will definitely be back ~ (sorry the pic is awful-was too excited to eat!)
Perfect japanese curry meal, nothing fancy, and the curry itself is the flavorful part but I think it’s balanced well with the relatively plain meat rice and cabbage, and the pickled veggie is a nice touch of acidity. The value is excellent, lots of food for the price and it’s very filling. I wish they were open more often because I keep craving it.
Pros: Super friendly service. The man handing me my order gave me two free iced teas on the house to try (but don’t expect free drinks if you’re going after this review is posted). Portion sizes are gigantic and very generous. The chicken karaage curry in particular was amazing. Super juicy and tender chicken. The curry itself is good too. Cons: Weird hours, only open Tuesday to Friday from like 11-4, making it unrealistic for most working people to try unless they are ordering it for delivery. The pork katsu was kind of dry in my opinion. Lastly, I thought the curry to rice ratio was a tad off. I felt that my take out orders had way too much rice and not enough curry Final verdict: A very solid option for Japanese curry in an area of the city that doesn’t have many options. Needs to wor
